But what is a quality inspection? Here in Ohio, home inspectors are not required to meet any special licensing requirements or standards. This means that if you aren't careful, the person you hire could have absolutely no construction background whatsoever. A home inspection is in no way a home warranty. Putting it in it's simplest form, a home inspection is nothing more than one person's opinion of a particular home at a set point in time. Would it then not be prudent to make sure the person whose opinion you are soliciting is qualified to do so? As a certified inspector with the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors, you have the assurance of the country's largest inspection association that I have demonstrated the skills and knowledge necessary to perform a quality inspection on your home.

Purchasing a home is the largest purchase most of us will ever make. It is a decision that can really help or hurt us financially. A thorough home inspection will at the very least give you peace of mind about your decision, and could potentially save you loads of money making countless repairs on defects you didn't see or budget for when viewing the home.
Today's home buyers are smart. More than likely they are going to insist on a thorough home inspection before the sale of your house is final. Do you really want to be caught off-guard at the last minute with a whole list of items that some inspector says need attention in your home? Of course not...you just want to close that sale and move on. Be prepared! Know the strong and weak points of your home up front so that you can choose to make the repairs necessary at your leisure or market the home as is and priced accordingly allowing the buyer to pick his own timing for the repairs and his own contractors. Knowing what the issues with your home are up front can save you a lot of time and money in the long run and showing a prospective buyer a recent home inspection with the recommended repairs made or budgeted for in the sales price can go a long way in prompting an offer on your home.
